A quick and skillful attacking midfielder who was signed on a three-year contract in June 2009 after being released by the new Primera Division club, CD Tenerife.
Suso was born in La Laguna, Tenerife and was a youth player with UD Taco San Luis and Atletico Arona. He signed for AD Laguna in 2005 and in 2006 after a fine season in the Third Division Suso moved to the then second level side CD Tenerife.
In 2007-08, he was loaned to CD Raqui San Isidro in the Third Division and then the following season he remained in the third tier scoring 9 goals in 30 games for UD Fuerteventura. He creates chances with his direct running on the wing and despite being out for six weeks with a hernia problem, Suso made 32 competitive appearances last season and scored six goals, several in spectacular fashion.
