Heart of Midlothian FC today announces that former Sporting Lisbon boss Paulo Sergio has replaced Jim Jefferies as manager.

The 43-year-old enjoyed a successful spell at the helm of the Portuguese outfit before his departure earlier this year.

Born in Estremoz, Paulo was a professional for 17 years and also managed Vitoria Guimaraes before taking over in Lisbon.

Jim was offered the chance to step up to Director of Football at Tynecastle but turned down the position.
