Contalmaison 2011
The McCrae's Battalion Trust undertook the annual pilgrimage to Contalmaison in France last week, to pay their respects at the WWI memorial cairn.
This year's trip marked the 95th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme, where over a million men lost their lives or were posted missing in action.
The 16th Royal Scots lost three quarters of their strength on the first morning alone, but still managed to penetrate the furthest in to the enemy position.

Hearts were represented by Facilities Manager Keith Hogg and former defender Alan Anderson who laid a poppy wreath on behalf of the Club. Representatives from Hibernian, Raith Rovers and Falkirk were also in attendance to pay their respects.
Today on Hearts.TV and App - all the coverage of the pre-season training camp in Italy, including a special edition of the Billy Brown Show.
