Raise the roof - Federation
The Federation of Hearts Supporters' Clubs (FHSC) today called upon supporters travelling to Celtic Park for tomorrow's Clydesdale Bank Premier League fixture to give their full support to Jim Jefferies and the players.
And in other news Hearts has revealed revised security practices for all away games going forward, designed to put supporter comfort and safety at the core of its plans for matches.
Hearts head to Parkhead for what is always a very tough fixture and around 400 supporters are expected to make the journey to Glasgow.
Before the game a minute of applause will be held for former Celtic, Dunfermline and Scotland manager Jock Stein and Federation secretary Stevie Kilgour is hoping that the away support will focus their backing on the men in maroon.
He said: "We really hope our supporters put al their energy and passion into supporting the team on Saturday. Celtic Park is not an easy place to go to, and our backing will be crucial.
"There might only be 400 of us there, but we can raise our voices and make a really good atmosphere from our corner of the ground."
Meanwhile, Hearts facilities and security manager Keith Hogg has appointed Graeme Macdonald at the club's new assistant matchday safety officer.
This is a change of procedure designed to focus efforts on monitoring the safety of the club's supporters, particularly at away matches.
Graeme will be based in the tunnel area, responsible for the safety of Hearts' players and officials.
Keith, meanwhile, will be based at away club's Police Control Centre from where he'll have access to the stadium's full set of security facilities. His focus will be on supporter safety and comfort throughout the match.
Keith explained: "There are two key areas at an away match. One is of course the tunnel and pitch-side area where our focus is on making sure everything goes smoothly for the players, coaching staff and club staff who are working at the match.
"The second area is our supporters and in coming to the club I want to renew our focus on taking the best possible care of our fans when we visit other stadiums.
"From the Police Control Centre I can view everything that is going on in the stadium, particularly the away end to make sure that each match goes off safely.
"It's of course a two-way thing and we very much require our supporters to always conduct themselves in a manner befitting the club, which means adhering to the SPL's Unacceptable Conduct Policy on racism, sectarianism and general abuse
"If supporters can help us, I promise we'll do everything in our power to help them."
The club will continue to employ Hearts Travel Stewards from G4S at away games this season and Keith Hogg will, as always, attend all pre-operational meetings with visiting clubs, the relevant police authority, and stewarding partners. Important information from those meetings will always be promptly posted here on heartsfc.co.uk.
