The Tynecastle side came from behind - just as they did at Gillingham - to secured a 3-2 win, courtesy of two sensational free-kicks from Craig Thomson.

As the team head back to Edinburgh tonight, the manager revealed his delight at the success of the team's mini-tour to England.

"These two games have tested the strength of the squad we've got," he said.

"I thought today they were outstanding. The fitness levels are great and we showed character like we did the other night. It is always nice to win the games but the performance was excellent.

"We were by far the better team in the opening 35 minutes until the injury. That took the wind out of our sails.

"The equaliser was a poor goal from our point of view - a free header in the six-yard box."

Jim revealed that he had to instruct Craig Thomson to hit the decisive winning free-kick goal. He revelled in the youngsters exceptional performance in two positions.

"I had to tell Craig Thomson to take the one at the end. It was as better distance than the first one," he said. "We were screaming at him to have another go. It was two fantastic free-kicks from him.

"He played wide right in the first half and gave me something to look at and when he switched to right-back in the second half he was excellent. I thought he was outstanding."

There was also praise for Ryan Stevenson, once again, following his display at Gillingham.

JJ added: "I thought the other night Stevenson was great but he was even better today. He was outstanding. I think he's a real find for us."

Jim revealed that Eggert Jonsson was replaced at half-time after suffering from concussion, whilst David Obua and Ian Black were not involved as a precaution against their groin injuries.

The manager also confirmed that Ruben Palazuelos could be involved in this week's game against Wolves.

And in response to news that Hearts had been fined £50,000 with an additional £10,000 suspended following last season's disciplinary record Jim vowed that it will be the last time that the Gorgie outfit are fined in such a fashion, assuring supporters he will instil complete discipline in the camp.

Finally on Adrian Mrowiec, Jim confirmed he'll make a decision soon.

"Adrian is doing alright," he said. "The decision will be mine. If I did not want him I would not have him in the last couple of games. I am thinking more about him than before that.

"We think we need a period to see how we wanted him to play. It is encouraging to see the supporters get behind him."
