A bright future - JJ
Jim Jefferies today predicted a bright future for Hearts.
Speaking at his pre-match news conference at Riccarton this morning, the Tynecastle boss revealed he's forging good relationships behind the scenes and with the club's hierarchy.
And the 1998 Scottish Cup winner is also pleased with the way the Gorgie players are responding to the new set-up.
"It has been terrific coming in," said Jim. "You know, it was a difficult one to come in and take a team the next day but that's football, and it is something that happens.
"It took a couple of weeks to get to know the boys but there is certainly a change of astmophere around the training ground.
"They are responding to what Billy, Lockie and I are trying to do.
"They are enjoying it, for whatever reason, without criticising anyone else. We've found it has changed and hopefully that will continue and hopefully we can go and do well."
Jim also revealed that he's not concerned about some of the club's out of contract players signing pre-contract deals with other clubs.
Pointing out that Hearts is a club players want to play for, he reaffirmed his commitment to take his time before making any recommendations.
"We have to assess the playing squad," he said. "That's the great thing, we have to win games to get to the top six and we can look at everyone.
"I've said time and time again - we'll sit down and see what we need and what we can do."
