Hearts boss Jim Jefferies today added his voice to the chorus of calls for the introduction of goal-line technology.

FIFA has been under pressure to implement new technology to help with disputed goals but at last weekend's meeting of the International Football Association Board (IFAB) in Switzerland, the proposal was rejected.

Both the Scottish FA and the English FA had voted in favour and JJ today insisted he's sees no reason why football should not follow in the footsteps of rugby, tennis and cricket.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Hearts.TV, the Tynecastle manager said: "I think it should come in but I don't think it should be done for anything other than matter of fact - was the ball over the line or not. That should be something to bring in and build on.

"Things like if it's a penalty or not has to be down to the opinion of the referee. The goal-line is the first thing it should be used for although it could be also be used to decide if tackles were in the box, or out the box.

"It has been brought in to other sports and has been successful and I don't see why we are wasting our time. It's people who are in major positions at the moment who are making this decison and I don't think it's right

"It's surely got to come in some time and the quicker it does, it would be a big help to everybody - players and supporters."

Meanwhile, Jim has confirmed striker Christian Nade is on his final warning after his dressing-room fall-out with Ian Black after the Celtic clash at Parkhead last month.

"It is a confidential matter and the matter is now closed," he said. "Christian breached club discipline, he has been told it's a final warning and we move on now."
