Striker Gary Glen on hand today to lend his support to four of Hearts talented academy players who will be involved in Thursday night's Sky Sports Victory Shield here at Tynecastle.

The forward was pictured with Jack Hamilton, Scott Campbell, Dale Carrick, and Ryan Carwath to promote the game where the winners will scoop the U16 home nations title.

Gary actually scored the fastest ever goal in this tournament, netting after six seconds four years ago at Rugby Park against England, albeit the home side eventually lost 2-1 on that occasion.

"It was memorable scoring against your country, and to do so against England after only six seconds was extra special," he said.

"But I hope the guys can go on and get the win this Thursday night. I hear there will be a few thousand at Tynecastle for the game so I hope it will be a good evening."

There are high hopes that Scotland can produce a memorable night this week with a very large crowd expected in Gorgie.

Thursday night's game kicks-off 7.40pm (note the unusual time) with the winners lifting the shield (or sharing it if the match is drawn). Entry is priced at £5 for adults and £2 for U16s via cash-only turnstiles at the Main Stand.
